CENTER-BASED SERVICES provides a safe and healthy environment for people to develop social and personal care skills for more independent and productive lives.
EMPLOYMENT SERVICES provides assistance in sustaining employment. This service provides wages and opportunities to interact with other workers. Employment services may be individual or group, enclaves, or mobile work crew.
CAREER PREPARATION is aimed at preparing participants for generalized employment through exposure to and experience with various careers and through teaching such concepts as compliance, attendance, task completion, problem solving, safety, self-determination, and self-advocacy.
RESIDENTIAL SERVICES offers individuals the opportunity to live in the community in a home-like environment under the supervision of trained staff. Personalized care and individualized training are provided to maximize independent living.
CONSUMER & FAMILY INVOLVEMENT It is the desire of FCDSNB to provide the highest quality services to individuals with disabilities and special needs in Fairfield County. To determine the quality and need of services, FCDSNB depends on the input and feedback from consumers, families, and other community agencies. Consumer Review Groups and Parent Organizations are a means by which FCDSNB receives specific information to plan needed enhancement of and development of services.
HUMAN RIGHTS AND SELF ADVOCACY The primary mission of the FCDSNB is to preserve and promote the basic dignity and human rights of individuals with disabilities and special needs. The individuals are entitled to the same rights available to all citizens in the community and in the least restrictive environment.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT General Orientation and enhanced training is offered to ensure quality. Staff Development provides and maintains certification for employees in courses required to prepare them to meet state regulations
